Martha has been involved with CHLG since 2007, initially as the Honeybees teacher and now as the Director and music teacher. Martha enjoys watching the children mature during their years at CHLG, including going from tears at drop off to "can't wait to get into the classroom". In December of 2010 she had the special privilege of working with the Caterpillars, Junebugs, Crickets and Grasshoppers to produce a Christmas pageant that included choral singing and drama. Martha lives on the hill with her husband, Christopher, and five children and enjoys outings with the family, getting together with her women's Bible study group and journaling.

Amy has been teaching in the field of early childhood education for nine years and has received the Who's Who Among American Teachers award. She has extensive experience with ages zero to six and uses brain research to design her curriculum. She has found that children learn best through experiences and aids exploration with projects and experiments that engage the whole child, such as constructing "coke geysers", making homemade ice cream, and tie dying T-shirts. Amy lives on the hill with her husband, Josh, and Bruno the dog. Amy is CPR and First Aid certified.
Jennifer Jameson, Crickets Teacher

Jennifer has been involved in the lives of children in many different capacities over the years. She has taught therapeutic riding, is certified to teach children's yoga, and is currently co-chairing a project to develop an outdoor garden classroom for a boys school in Anacostia. Jennifer has been teaching the Crickets class at CHLG since 2009. Prior to her teaching career Jennifer had a thirteen year career in Government Affairs and was a political appointee at the U.S. Department of Labor. Jennifer has lived on Capitol Hill with her husband since 2000, has a five year old son, and is an active volunteer in the community. Jennifer is CPR and First Aid certified.

Robin is originally from the Central Valley of California and moved to the hill with her husband and two children in August of 2010. Robin attained her BA and teaching credential from Fresno Pacific University and has over six years of teaching experience. Robin was heavily involved in the inception and licensing of a preschool in California which has since become a highly sought after school with a long wait list. She enjoys running, reading and playing guitar. Robin is CPR and First Aid certified.

Laura is a California native who moved to D.C. in December of 2009 (just in time for Snowmaggedon). Laura has five years of teaching experience and enjoys helping children meet their creative and intellectual potential. She considers the task of helping a child discover and maximize on his/her individual strengths & gifts to be one of the high points of her role as a teacher. Laura lives on the hill with her husband and two daughters, and in her free time enjoys running along the National Mall, reading, and doing art projects with her girls. Laura is CPR and First Aid certified.

Melissa has taught at CHLG for the last two years, first in the Grasshopper class, then in the previous Fireflies class, and now as the Honeybee teacher. She has degrees in both elementary education and special education with an emphasis on learning disabilities. Prior to her work with CHLG Melissa taught both first grade and middle school. Melissa, her husband and three children reside in Arlington, VA, where her husband is a pastor. In her free time Melissa enjoys ministering alongside her husband, running a monogramming business with friends, visiting the D.C. sights with her family, and working with her husband on their "fixer-upper" house. Melissa is CPR and First Aid certified.
