Lead Preschool Teacher (Part-Time)

Please read below for more information regarding this teaching opportunity.
Those interested in making application should complete the online Teacher Application .
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the fact that CHLG is a micro-school, our teaching positions are part-time.

CHLG seeks a fun, organized and energetic teacher to join our preschool teaching team. Successful candidates will have experience planning lessons and leading a preschool classroom (excellent classroom management skills a must). CHLG is faith based in the Evangelical Christian tradition and as such we seek Christian candidates who are interested in integrating the Christian worldview into daily programming and in working closely with parents and other teachers. This is a part-time lead teaching position with either 3 or 4 year olds (14 hours on site per week, plus outside planning time) and the salary is between $14,00-$15,500 / annually depending on education and experience. *NOTE: We specifically seek teacher candidates who want part-time work and can commit at least through June 2020 (i.e.: not those who are looking for full time employment).
  • About CHLG: CHLG's preschool program operates as a Christ-centered parent/teacher cooperative, with participating families volunteering both in and outside the classroom to promote our learning community. Our class sizes are small (no more than 10 students per class) and our teachers are valued for their leadership and knowledge and for the special part they play in our very close knit community. The classes with the open teaching positions meet on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9:00-12:45 (teacher's hours are 8:30-1:00) and we follow a typical school calendar (teachers start August 20th and school ends mid-June). CHLG also has a Hybrid Academy for primary and middle school students (K-8th) which meets Tues, Thurs, Fri from 9:00-1:00. Teacher's children may attend the preschool or the Hybrid Academy at a reduced tuition rate if space is available.
  • Education / Experience: Candidates should identify as Christians and be capable of integrating the Christian worldview into daily programming. Successful candidates will hold a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child and Family Studies, Child Development or Special Education. A candidate with a Liberal Arts degree who also holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or a candidate with a degree in Psychology or Social Work who has appropriate preschool teaching experience would also be considered. Preschool classroom teaching experience is preferred but not required.  Interested?  Please apply HERE.
