CHLG seeks a fun, organized and energetic teacher to join our elementary teaching team. Successful candidates will have experience planning lessons and leading a lower elementary classroom (excellent classroom management skills a must). CHLG is an Evangelical Christian school and as such we seek Christian candidates who are interested in integrating the Christian worldview into daily programming and in working closely with parents and other teachers. This is a part-time teaching position (15 hours on site per week, plus outside planning time) and the salary is $17,000-$18,500 annually depending on education and experience. *NOTE: We specifically seek teacher candidates who want part-time work and can commit at least through June 2021 (i.e.: not those who are looking for full time employment).
- About CHLG: CHLG is a Christ-centered micro-school that utilizes a Hybrid learning model (a combination of classroom based and home based education). Our class sizes are small (no more than 10 students per class) and our teachers are valued for their leadership and knowledge and for the special part they play in our very close knit community. Classes meet on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9:00-1:00 (teacher's hours are typically 8:30-1:15, with occasional after school meetings) and we follow a typical school calendar (school ends mid-June). Teacher's children may attend the elementary or upper school program at a reduced tuition rate if space is available.
- Education / Experience: Candidates should identify as Christians and be capable of integrating the Christian worldview into daily programming. Successful candidates will hold a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Special Education. A candidate with a Liberal Arts degree who also holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or a candidate with a related degree who has appropriate teaching experience would also be considered. Classroom teaching experience is preferred but not required. Interested? Please apply HERE.
