CHLG seeks a knowledgable, organized and energetic teacher to join our Middle School teaching team. Successful candidates will have experience planning and leading middle school general and physical science courses (excellent classroom management skills a must). CHLG is an Evangelical Christian school and as such we seek Christian candidates who are interested in integrating the Christian worldview into daily programming and in working closely with parents and other teachers. This is a part-time teaching position (11 hours on site per week plus outside planning and grading) and the salary is $12,000-$13,500 annually depending on education and experience. Science courses will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30-1:15. *NOTE: We specifically seek teacher candidates who want part-time work and can commit at least through June 2021 (i.e.: not those who are looking for full time employment).
- About CHLG: CHLG is a Christ-centered micro-school that utilizes a Hybrid learning model (a combination of classroom based and home based education). Our class sizes are small (no more than 10 students per class) and our teachers are valued for their leadership and knowledge and for the special part they play in our very close knit community. CHLG also has a preschool program for children 2.5-5 years of age and a K-9th grade program (which we plan to expand through 12th grade in the next several years), and teacher's children may attend at a reduced tuition rate if space is available.
- Education / Experience: Candidates should identify as Christians and be capable of integrating the Christian worldview into daily programming. Successful candidates will hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Secondary Science Education or a bachelor's degree in a related field. Classroom teaching experience is preferred but not required.
