Music / Theater
Children K-8th participate in a regular music class which includes both vocal and instrumental instruction (percussion).  Skills taught include solfege, intonation, beat concept and rhythm recognition/execution.  Students are also provided with musical and theatrical performance opportunities.

Art
Children K-8th engage in regular picture studies (lessons in learning to observe and appreciate art) as well as various art projects throughout the school year.  Additionally, families have the option to participate in regular docent led tours at the National Gallery of Art as scheduled by CHLG's curriculum coordinator, and/or a weekly after school art class provided onsite at CHLG for an additional fee.
